SHOPPING EXTENSIONS: PART II: DECIDING HOW MUCH HAIR TO BUY

Most people need 3 to 6 ounces depending on the length and thickness of their hair. At a face to face consult we can give you an exact amount of what you need to purchase but I've made a chart for how many to buy in case you want to shop around and purchase on your own.

TIP: If you're going for volume only, go with the lower number.

If you have super baby fine hair, go with the lower number.

If you have thick hair, go with the higher amount.

If you have extra thick hair add an ounce or two.

When buying hair, it's more accurate to say ounces or grams than to go by pieces or bundles. One bundle may have 100 pc and weigh 4 oz and another may have 25 pc and weigh 1 oz. It depends on the company.

In general, most strand by strand companies "bundle" their hair together into roughly 1 oz. If you're dealing with weft hair (hair that looks like a curtain) it's typically bundled into 3.5 to 4 oz (sometimes 2oz depending on the brand).

Refer to the chart to decide how much hair you need.
